Course description: Topics in formal and informal geometry. Designed for elementary education majors.
Prerequisites: Math 113 or Math 122, or permission of department head.
Texts:
A Problem Solving Approach to Mathematics for Elementary School Teachers by Billstein, Libeskind and Lott, 8th edition (2004), Addison Wesley Longman.
Mathematics Activities for Elementary School Teachers: A Problem-Solving Approach by Dolan, Williamson and Muri, 5th edition (2004), Addison Wesley Longman.
Calculator: The Casio 9750G Plus will be used for classroom demonstrations. It is recommended that you check with the instructor before using a calculator other than the Casio 9750G Plus for this class. Some testing will be conducted without the use of the calculator.
